REMAIN is an upcoming black-and-white supernatural short film currently in development.
Inspired by the Igbo concept of the ogbanje, a spirit child believed to move between the worlds of the living and the dead, REMAIN blends psychological drama with Igbo cosmology. The film tells the story of a woman who finds herself drawn back to the spirit world that once claimed her. As the boundaries between memory, loss, and the unseen begin to dissolve, she is faced with one final choice: return to the life she has reclaimed, or remain where she truly belongs.
Written, directed, and produced by Chin We, the film explores themes of grief, identity, memory, and the enduring ties between the living and the dead. Through its striking black-and-white visual style and intimate storytelling, REMAIN examines what it means to hold on, let go, and ultimately find peace.
Currently in pre-production, REMAIN is being developed as an independent short film. Production updates, first-look images, behind-the-scenes features, casting announcements, and release news will be published on Abstract Friday as the project progresses.
