A Beautiful Weekend in Monaco with Fairmont Hotel

Fairmont Hotel Monte Carlo is a four star luxury resort located in the centre of the principality of Monaco. Monaco is located on the French Riviera in Western Europe. Monaco is known as a playground of the rich and famous and also home to the world’s most celebrated events including the Formula 1 Grand Prix, Monaco Yacht Show and Top Marques Monaco.

I visited Monaco recently for work and my choice of hotel was the Fairmont Monte Carlo. Fairmont Monte Carlo offers 602 guest rooms and suites, 3 restaurants, a private dining by Fairmont Monte Carlo which is a private catering service that caters in-site and off-site, a bar, 18 meeting rooms, shopping arcade, in house casino, wellness facilities, spa and a roof top pool.

Location

Fairmont Monte Carlo is located in the heart of Monaco, between the Mediterranean sea and Casino of Monte Carlo. The Hotel is 2.3 km from the Prince’s Palace of Monaco and 4 km from the Oceanographic Museum.

Interior

The hotel has quite an interesting style – quirky sculptures, polished wood and marble. Very understated, beautifully designed and an entire mall of top end shops.

The shopping arcade offers top end shops and unique boutiques with luxury brands such as Kardinale, Daniela Bentivoglio, Ricriation, Mercedeh Shoes,  Eres etc

Accommodation

Each of the  Hotel’s 602 guest rooms and suites either offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, the garden courts or the Fairmont Grand Prix Hairpin side.

For my accommodation, I stayed  at the  Deluxe Sea View Room on the 6th floor which is equipped with a double bed, marble en-suite bathroom and a private furnished terrace. The room is stylish and spacious and opens unto a private terrace overlooking the magnificent sights of the Mediterranean Sea and the Riviera.

The Deluxe Sea View Room offers

1 double bed –balcony with sea view
 Relax – In-room massage available
Entertainment – WiFi, premium channels, and pay movies
Food & Drink – 24-hour room service and minibar
Sleep – Premium bedding and blackout drapes/curtains
Bathroom – Private bathroom, bathtub, bathrobes, and slippers
Practical – Safe, iron/ironing board, and desk; rollaway/extra beds and free cribs/infant beds available on request
Comfort – Air conditioning and daily housekeeping
Views– Magnificent sights of the Mediterranean Sea and the Riviera
Dining
Fairmont Monte Carlo has 3 refined restaurants – The Horizon Deck, Restaurant and Champagne Bar (opens from April -October), the Nobu Fairmont Monte Carlo and Saphir 24 Bistro lounge and bar. The Horizon Deck, Restaurant and Champagne bar is a Mediterranean restaurant and champagne bar. The Saphir 24 bistro lounge and bar offers an impressive menu of drinks and cocktails in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Nobu Fairmont Monte Carlo is a fine dining restaurant serving traditional Japanese dishes.
Breakfast
Breakfast at the Fairmont was excellent, it was just perfect! A very well thought out buffet filled with an assortment of hot and cold dishes. I tucked into a full English and the service was friendly.
I had lunch at the Saphir 24, bistro lounge and bar and really enjoyed it. Saphir 24 comes alive at night  and the atmosphere is busy and bubbly. Service was also friendly.
Spa & Fitness
I visited the fitness centre for a workout which is located on the 7th floor. The gym is well equipped, great roof top pool and gym facilities.

If you want to see what Fairmont Monte Carlo experience really looks like, I leave you with this video.

Final Thoughts

A great hotel in a spectacular and superb location in Monte Carlo! Perfectly located within walking distance to everywhere. Staff are friendly and the concierge are very informative. The breakfast buffet is a must!  However, there was no  welcome amenity and no free bottled water in the room. They need to be standard, in my opinion. Overall, I had a wonderful time at the Fairmont Monte Carlo, I cant recommend it enough.

I’ve never been to Monaco, but I’ve certainly stayed at many Fairmont Hotels around the world and have loved them all. I would definitely consider staying at the Fairmont in Monte Carlo. Thx for this report!

ChinWe – I want your job. I want to spend a year in the room you had, and visit the spa everyday. Oh, what a life that would be. I am so jealous.

The bathtub in your first picture looks bigger than some of the hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. Hotel looks great, as I found most Fairmonts are.

Interesting statuary. I’ve stayed in many Fairmont Hotels though we stayed in a private villa during our visit to Monaco. This one looks lovely, and that’s the thing about Fairmont, no matter where it is you know you can count on the facility and services being 5*.

What a great post, and wonderful pictures.
First thing I noticed, it appears everything, from the architecture down to the food, is a combination of modern, and classical fused together. What a great place.
    Thanks for sharing.
