A Luxury Stay at Four Seasons Hotel Florence, Italy

The Four Seasons Florence is a 5-Star Luxury Hotel and urban resort in Florence, Italy. It is a living museum of art history, set in a former 16th century and within the walled tranquility of Florence’s private garden. The Hotel comprises of two renaissance palaces, whose former private residents includes a pope, an order of nuns, Italy’s first railway company, five centuries of Florence nobility and a viceroy of Egypt.

Location
The Hotel is located on the edge of Florence’s historic centre and occupies two protected buildings, the 15th century Palazzo della Gherardesca and the “Conventino”, a 16th century Palazzo which was once a convent. Between them lie over 10 acres( 4.5 hectares) of botanical gardens-theGiardino della Gherardesca-one of the most beautiful and undiscovered green spaces on the right bank of the River Arno. Located close to Piazza Donatello, Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and Academy Gallery. Also nearby are San Lorenzo Church and Bargello Museum.

Interiors

Once you enter you are welcomed into the rare opportunity to view the 15th -19th century artworks in their original context : frescoes, bas-reliefs, stuccoes and silk wall papers

Original works of art and architectural detailing can also be found in several of the hotel’s 116 bedrooms, suites and bathrooms. The hotel’s colourful history unfolds through it’s ornately painted and crafted interiors.

Bedroom

I stayed at the Four Seasons Junior Suite on the second floor which is equipped with a king size bed (Extra beds available: Crib and Roll away bed), high ceilings and unique spaces, and deep soaking european tub . The full marble private bathroom has a spacious vanity with a separate glass-enclose rain shower. As well as bathrobes, slippers, complimentary toiletries, air conditioning, a safe, and a desk are among the conveniences offered and all designed to make you feel welcoming and compulsorily residential. Flat screen TV, a mini bar is offered for your entertainment and a complimentary wired and wireless internet access which keeps you connected.

Dining

IL Palagio Restaurant, the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant is on the ground floor where Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served. Breakfast includes freshly made italian bread and croissants as well as a selection of pastries, cheeses, smoked fish and cold meats. Dinner menu includes plenty of choices including traditional italian options as well as rice, fish, meat dishes & cured meat, cheeses, deserts & pastry etc

The Atrium Bar
The Atrium Bar offers an elegant setting for guests to enjoy light meals, coffee specialties, cocktails throughout the day and scrumptious afternoon teas. It is the primary spot for people to meet in the Hotel. In the evenings, the is live piano music. Whilst you’re at Atrium bar, please sample the 100km Tiramisu Cocktail.

The Spa
The Spa occupies a two storey building. Nine treatment rooms are situated on the upper level of the main spa level while the spa suite is situated in a separate building. It is a lush spa that offers signature treatments, facial treatments and body treatments, The inside is just beautiful with little touches such as pretty lanterns lined outside each treatment room.

I was told by the Therapist that the Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Firenze is the first in the world to promote well-being exclusively made in Italy and sources its products from Officina Profumo – Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, Florence’s oldest pharmacy.

I was lucky to be offered a complimentary treatment. I opted for the Tuscan Cypress Body Scrub  which is a restorative exfoliation treatment that perfectly smoothes and hydrates the skin and the IRIEmotions which is a physical and emotional pampering, through a sequence of facial, hand and feet treatments with the unique Ireos powder.

I have been to the Four Seasons in Firenze! But not as an overnight guest…we were staying elsewhere. But we enjoyed a lovely evening in the Atrium Bar with friends and it was a wonderful experience. You can’t bat the service…at any Four Seasons, as a matter of fact:) I’d like to get back there…and stay here! What fabulous pictures! WOW!

Beautiful hotel. Many of your photos of the interior look as though they were shot in a museum rather than a hotel.

What a luxurious hotel. Great photos. I doubt I will ever be able to afford to stay at this hotel, but if I ever am in Florence, I may stop by for a drink just to feel that luxury for a short while.

What I wouldn’t give to stay at the Four Seasons in Firenze for a week. I would spend the whole time at the spa – what luxury. Your pictures are gorgeous. I do wonder though, how an order of nuns could have lived in these sumptious surroundings.

The Four Seasons at Firenze is stunning…the grounds, the architecture, everything. Wow. Would love to see it in person, I’m sure the photos don’t do it justice. 🙂

The only Four Seasons I can recall staying in was in Austin TX just last year. Indeed it’s a beautiful resort and for us the service was mostly a 10 on the proverbial 1 to 10 scale. What I loved about this post is it is keeping me pumped about our upcoming trip to Italy and Germany this year.

Fantastic. I was in Florence as a young teen and would love to go back. I like the vanities where you have space below the sinks to place toiletries and cosmetic bags to keep the vanity uncluttered. Wonderful photography.

What a beautiful hotel. I like the grounds, bedroom, entrance hall – just about everything. There is something about staying in 4/5 star hotels. You truly feel spoilt.
The croissants and pastries look delicious too.
