Crown Plaza London The City Hotel is a stylish 4* Hotel located in London’s financial district. On Monday the 9th of November 2015, I had the pleasure of spending the night at the stylish Crowne Plaza London The City Hotel courtesy of IHG Rewards. The hotel has 204 bedrooms including suites, 2 restaurants, a cocktail and champagne bar, conference room, fitness centre, club lounge, and 24 hour concierge. The hotel offers both business and leisure travellers deluxe accommodation and covenient access to the city’s major business districts and landmarks.
Location
The Crowne Plaza London – The City is located in the city of London, near Blackfriars’s stationand minutes from some of London’s most famous attractions such as The London Eye and St Paul’s Cathedral. Everything great about London is within its reach.
Interior
The Hotel embodies a stylish, elegant decor, contemporary design and good colour scheme. The hotel was built on the foundations of King Henry the Vlll’s Bridewell Palace and the location has a rich cultural and historical heritage.
Accommodation
The Hotel has 204 rooms including British Designer Suites and all the room offers free WiFi, 24-hour room service, and flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, minibar, coffee makers, and hair dryers.
I stayed at the Standard Room. The air-conditioned standard room features satellite TV with sky sports, 24 hour room service, a smart work place, mini bars, coffee makers, hair dryers, bathrobes, trouser press and ironing board. The style is contemporary with white egyptian cotton bed sheets, coloured throws and dark furniture.
Dining
The Hotel has two restaurants the Diciannove and Chinese Cricket Club which are located on the ground floor.The Diciannove Restaurant and wine bar offers italian cuisine.
The Chinese Cricket Club Restaurant offers a contemporary menu of sichuan and Dim Sum specialites.
Breakfast
The Chinese Cricket Club Restaurant is where Breakfast is served. There were lots of delicious and fresh food options. I loved the choices and presentation. What a great way to start your day in the city!
Dinner
For Dinner I sampled the 3 course meal at the Chinese Cricket Club. It was simply amazing. food was delicious and yummy. The service was good! Overall it was a great experience.

Final Thoughts
Crowne Plaza London The City Hotel is located in the heart of London. The hotel is in a convenient location and in a superb spot in the city. The train station is less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Restaurants, shopping centres and attractions are close by which is perfect. The rooms in the hotel are clean, spacious, well appointed and well presented. The hotel is beautifully decorated! The wow factor of my staycation was the pillow spray to aid a good night’s sleep. Overall, I had a pleasant staycation.
